Ten Years of Connection, Challenge and Growth with Sales Syndicate
Shane Nolan, National Sales Manager at RX Plastics and Indicator Sales Syndicate Member since 2015.
In 2025, Sales Syndicate marks a decade of supporting sales leaders, and few have been part of that story longer than Shane Nolan. As one of the original members, Shane has been with Sales Syndicate since day one. Over the past ten years, he has not only sharpened his leadership but also played a role in exactly what Sales Syndicate represents today which is connection, continuous learning and shared challenge.
Why Community Matters
For Shane, Sales Syndicate has always been more than professional development it is also about the people you meet along the way. “What makes it special is the conversations with others,” he says. The opportunity to share challenges, reflect with peers and learn from those outside his own industry has provided insights he may not have encountered within his regular work circle. “We’re all stuck in our industry and our roles, so we only have a limited circle of experience. Sales Syndicate has filled a sorely needed gap in the market.”
He credits the programme with helping him stay sharp in a fast-changing business landscape. “You have to keep pushing yourself to stay relevant. I rely on Indicator and Sales Syndicate to introduce me to new trends and new ways to think about things.”
Learning Beyond the Familiar
Over the years, Shane has absorbed wisdom from a wide range of guest speakers each offering something different, but all delivering perspectives that challenge the status quo. “I wouldn’t say I have loved all of them however I have learnt a huge amount from the speakers over the years,” Shane reflects, “but the real gold is in the discussions those talks ignite.”
He values the space that Sales Syndicate creates as a consistent opportunity to take a step back from the day to day to invest in personal and professional growth. “It’s not just about ideas. It’s about being deliberate in your leadership, and in how you grow yourself.”
Relationships That Endure
While the content has been valuable, Shane is quick to highlight the enduring relationships he has formed over the past decade. He enjoys spending time with Mike, Abbie and Justine, and credits their connection alongside others in the group with making the experience valuable. “I’ve built some great relationships through this. There’s something powerful about spending time with people who really understand the challenges you face and who are invested in helping you succeed.”
Advice to Future Leaders
Shane is a strong advocate for others in sales leadership roles to join the Sales Syndicate. But he’s clear that the value you get is directly tied to what you bring. “You’ve got to show up. Be honest, be open, and be curious. The more you put in, the more you’ll take away.”
